"People need to know that what they do matters" | October 19, 2011

Today someone said this to me, so simple and so profound.

Think about something you did, that you invested in for so many passionate hours of your life you’ll never get back.

Did it matter?

Or…like me…did you just do it, get a plethora of (mostly negative) feedback and then never hear if it mattered a shake of salt to anyone.  Maybe it did, but do you know it did?

I want to know that what I’m doing matters, if only to me. I also know, when you do something that makes a difference to me you’ll hear about it.

  1. I felt like all the hard work we put in to Einstein, finally mattered when I got to see him with Robin and hear he and his mom's appreciation. Seriously, that made 3 years of work totally worth it and I would do it again in a heartbeat because of that.

Appreciation is also why I choose to work with some clients and not others.
